TULSA — Global warming skeptic U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe of Oklahoma says his whirlwind trip to Copenhagen to visit a climate change meeting gave him ample opportunity to spread his message.

Inhofe told the Tulsa World's Washington bureau Friday that he spent about four hours on the ground in Denmark earlier this week, during which he was able to deliver his thoughts about climate change to reporters.

Inhofe, the senior Republican on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee, has called man-made global warming the biggest scientific hoax ever perpetrated on the American people.

Inhofe says that despite what top Democrats say, the Senate will not pass climate change legislation, as the U.S. House did earlier this year.

Another Oklahoma Republican, U.S. Rep. John Sullivan, also traveled to Copenhagen as a member of a House delegation.

With the revelation of the Climategate emails we now know that Inhofe was right all along. Global Warming is a hoax. The only true believers left are vapid extremists on the fringe element of the left wing...people who can't think analytically, critically, or quantitatively.

What this AP article doesn't report, but Andrea Mitchell of NBC did report, is that Inhofe couldn't even get reporters to talk him until he trapped them on the stairs and started yelling that them that climate change was a hoax, to which the reporters responded, "You're crazy!" and "who was that?" That's right, they didn't even know who he was! He couldn't get a meeting with any major leaders of other nations or government officials. One reporter even spelled his name wrong! The trip was successful only if Inhofe considers success as landing in Denmark, eating a danish, and going home with his tail between his legs. What an idiot! How did this guy become a U.S. Senator? I sure as hell didn't vote for him.

Somehow, I don't think Inhofe lives in reality. Hence why he thinks his trip was a success, when clearly it wasnt.

A reporter asked: "If there's a hoax, then who's putting on this hoax, and what's the motive?"

"It started in the United Nations," Inhofe said, "and the ones in the United States who really grab ahold of this is the Hollywood elite."

One reporter asked Inhofe if he was referring to California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. Another reporter — this one from Der Spiegel — told the senator: "You're ridiculous."

It is successful enough for him to spin to his stupid supporters as effective. It'll help get him re-elected, for sure.

What is so sad is that the right wing media in this state twist the report around as if Inhofe was any person of importance to anyone in Europe...check out 'Der Spiegel' the German newsmagazine http://www.spiegel.de/wissenschaft/mensch/0,1518,667775,00.html who called him a dinosaur and his appearance as 'one of the most bizarre moments of the summit'
He is re-elected because too many voters in this state are the conservative or ultra conservatives who guardingly hold on to their mythical ideals of what they want the state/nation/world to be like. THey fail to see global changes and the downward spiral of this state due to not only Inhofe but the likes of Coburn and those in our state legislature.

As a 54yo returning grad student Oklahoma won't change if the young people don't embrace progress, vote, and throw out these dinosaurs!

Der Speigel called him a dinosaur... When I travel I hesitate to say I reside in this state; and do so with a disclaimer that I am not native-- all due to feeling excruciatingly embarrassed in being associated with Inhofe and his ilk. He is reelected due to political power and money and a powerful religious force that promotes ignorance and blind faith.

This newspaper apparently has abdicated all responsibility of research or investigating what it prints. Inhofe spent four hours on the ground in the dead of night. He had one interview with one magazine that was able to meet him during his poorly planned stop. Why would you print that his staff calls this visit successful? Why not report on what actually occurred? All I want is for someone to print real news. And ask important questions, like who will be paying for his trip? I'd rather not it be me.

Recent research by Henrik Svensmark and his group at the Danish National Space Center points to the real cause of the recent warming trend. In a series of experiments on the formation of clouds, these scientists have shown that fluctuations in the Sun's output cause the observed changes in the Earth's temperature.

In the past, scientists believed the fluctuations in the Sun's output were too small to cause the observed amount of temperature change, hence the need to look for other causes like carbon dioxide. However, these new experiments show that fluctuations in the Sun's output are in fact large enough, so there is no longer a need to resort to carbon dioxide as the cause of the recent warming trend.

The discovery of the real cause of the recent increase in the Earth's temperature is indeed a convenient truth. It means humans are not to blame for the increase. It also means there is absolutely nothing we can, much less do, to correct the situation.

2009-12-21 08:46:42 Study shows CFCs, cosmic rays major culprits for global warming

WATERLOO, Ont. (Monday, Dec. 21, 2009) - Cosmic rays and chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs), both already implicated in depleting the Earth's ozone layer, are also responsible for changes in the global climate, a University of Waterloo scientist reports in a new peer-reviewed paper.

In his paper, Qing-Bin Lu, a professor of physics and astronomy, shows how CFCs - compounds once widely used as refrigerants - and cosmic rays - energy particles originating in outer space - are mostly to blame for climate change, rather than carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. His paper, derived from observations of satellite, ground-based and balloon measurements as well as an innovative use of an established mechanism, was published online in the prestigious journal Physics Reports.

Sen. Inhofe -- An American Hero.

Sen. Inhofe is a great American hero who had traveled far to delivered the truth and that is the global warming is a hoax to further the cap and trade bill. Climategate had exposed this hoax.

Thousands upon thousands of honest scientists disagreed with CRU and IPCC findings. They protested and petitioned still their voice can not be heard. Thanks to Sen. Inhofe, the truth about this hoax is finally coming out.

Thousands upon thousands of honest scientists discredited the Mann Hockey Stick and global warming theory.

The science is not settled.

Thank you Sen. Inhofe for saving America billions of dollars from going to China and other countries, tons of jobs, and paying more taxes. Because of you, I too dare to speak the truth.

We can all agree that Inhofe is a joke. But isn't this an AP story not a Daily story?

Either way, flying to Copenhagen to hold your own press conference is d.u.m.b. It's sad this is how OK is being rep'd to the world.

Senator Inhofe is right on. The World population is increasing by more than 62 Million/year! From 1938 to 2008, a (70) year period, the population has DOUBLED FROM (3)Billion TO (6) Billion, (with a commensurate increase of live-stock, agricultural & other needs)! In (2) more (70) year periods, the population, (et al), will SOAR to 24 Billion people, (unless some mitigating factor is found)! At the end of those (2,) (70) year periods, oil sources will be mostly depleted! (70%) of the world's FRESH WATER,is saved, (in the form of ice & snow), in the Antarctica. The world has endured (3) "Ice Ages" and thaws, far BEFORE the advent of man. NASA (and I), believe, that the SUN is responsible for such actions. Some ignorant people have called you "CRAZY". You are as crazy as that guy Columbus! Wait till he falls off the edge of the earth! That will wake you up! For a complete analysis of the subject, (in layman's terms), including how electricity derived from renewable energy sources, saves mankind! @kbaumberg And not to be an ass but doesn't the photo above show that he talked to more than just one magazine? I count 4 recorders and 7 reporters ...

Don't get me wrong, the guy sucks. Just sayyiinnn

I stand corrected, his aides did manage to scrounge up some reporters. I'd refer you to the Politico report on Inhofe's visit. A few were found and the tight shot shows him surrounded...I wonder if that's all there was. And, yes, this is an AP story. What concerns me is a reportedly independent paper simply copying an AP report. I know many if not all do this, but I just believe you should be independent enough to confirm an AP story or write your own take.
