OKLAHOMA CITY — Sen. Jim Inhofe says he opposes a government proposal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 17 percent by 2020.
The Oklahoma Republican says he plans to travel to a climate conference in Europe next week to tell participants the proposal has little support in the U.S. Senate.
The Environmental Protection Agency has said scientific evidence shows greenhouse gases threaten public health and that the pollutants should be reduced. But Inhofe says he believes emissions, mainly carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels, have little effect on the climate.
Inhofe has called for an investigation into allegations that some scientists manipulated data to provide proof of global warming. A climate change skeptic, Inhofe says e-mails leaked from climate scientists indicate researchers suppressed data.

For what it's worth, if you read the literature he's written, he does have a very well-constructed argument.
Having said that, I hate the guy.

@williamcombs
Hey William, Obama is president now. Why don't you go ahead and leave this country?

I love Jim Inhofe and I'm so glad he represents my state. If people don't like it they can leave. This state is only getting more red every year, and that is a wonderful thing.

"If people don't like it they can leave."
Or they could show up to the polls and vote these crazy wingnuts out of office.

Senator Inhofe is an idiot! No disrespect. Denying that carbon dioxide is a greenhouse gas is like denying the existence of gravity. It doesn't matter if carbon dioxide is put into the atmosphere by natural causes, humans, or the freaking flying spaghetti monster, it still traps heat from the sun if it's in our atmosphere.

Why Oklahoma, why? Inhofe went to school 30 years ago, he needs to go back to school and get caught back up in elementary science.

freak197, the way we run things here, Inhofe will be forced to go to school to teach science.
