The Daily’s Callie Kavourgias looks ahead at the week in television

What to watch on TV: Sept. 15 through 21

12:00 a.m. September 15, 2008

Last week television saw the return of the NFL with a Packers win over Adrian Peterson and the Vikings on “Monday Night Football.” Also, Michael Phelps hosted the “SNL” season premiere, where the highlight was Tina Fey guest starring as Sarah Palin.

“Hole in the Wall”

Fox, Thursday 7 p.m.

This is the American version of a Japanese game show where the objective is for contestants to move their bodies certain ways to be able to fit through a hole in a wall that’s moving toward them. While the premiere was last week, you should still try to catch it this week, because it is laugh-out-loud funny. You can’t help but bust out laughing when someone can’t get through the moving hole fast enough and ends up getting knocked down hard into the water.

“House”

Fox, Tuesday 8 p.m.

It was just announced that Hugh Laurie will be making $400,000 an episode, making him one of the TV’s highest paid actors. This week, “House” returns for its fall premiere. In last season’s finale, House’s best friend’s girlfriend, Amber, escorted House on a bus after he was too drunk to get himself home. There was an accident, and Amber was killed. Now, House’s relationship with Wilson, his best and only friend, is in jeopardy.

The 2008 Primetime Emmys

ABC, Sunday 7 p.m.

This year the Emmys will be hosted by five different reality TV show hosts – Heidi Klum (“Project Runway”), Tom Bergeron (“Dancing With the Stars”), Ryan Seacrest, (“American Idol”), Howie Mandel, (“Deal or No Deal”) and Jeff Probst (“Survivor”).
