Last week television saw the return of “90210,” although it looked quite a bit different, the return of "Saved By Bell's," Zack Morris, uh, I mean Mark-Paul Gosselaar, in the new courtroom drama “Raising the Bar” and the Republican National Convention. This week promises a solid line-up on TV as well, with several new shows premiering and returning to air.
“Monday Night Football” (ESPN, Monday 6 p.m.)
Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers. You love the “Monday Night Football” commercials. You know you’ve been humming the “Monday Night Football” theme song. So tune in this week as Adrian Peterson (remember him?) battles the Packers in the first Monday night game of the season.
“One Tree Hill” (The CW, Monday 8 p.m.)
Last week’s season premiere saw Lucas pick Peyton, but we didn’t see them get married. This week, they’ll return to Tree Hill to face their friends after their abrupt departure to Las Vegas. Bu, they’ll be greeted with a horribly beaten Brooke who was jumped at her store by an unknown masked man. Expect a crazy twist in true “One Tree Hill” fashion. Also, Dan’s been taken captive by Nanny Carrie, another plot arc that only this show could pull off.
“Privileged” (The CW, Tuesday, 8 p.m.)
Tune in this week to find out if this new series is worth a season’s pass on your DVR. The show follows Megan, a 23-year-old who is fired from her job at a tabloid only to be hired by a cosmetics mogul as a live-in tutor for her teenage twin granddaughters. Megan’s sole purpose is to get the beautiful brats into college. The twins are definitely not fans of Megan, but she is determined to win them over, as she enjoys the perks of her new job, like her private suite and new car. “Privileged” is based on author Zoey Dean's book “How To Teach Filthy Rich Girls."
“Saturday Night Live” (NBC, Saturday, 10:35 p.m.)
America’s current favorite son, 14-time Olympic gold medal winner Michael Phelps, hosts the season premiere of “SNL” this week. He may or may not be funny, but you know you’re going to watch (or DVR) it anyway.
