The Earth Natural Foods

Phone: 364-3551
A quaint community atmosphere can be found at The Earth Natural Foods.
The market is a Norman classic and has been around since 1969.
Most of the products sold at The Earth carry the USDA’s “organic” label, and the employees are always ready to help customers learn about a healthier lifestyle.
Customers can find everything from organic laundry detergent to organic cereal at the store, and can also enjoy the store’s intimate atmosphere and The Earth’s own garden, which is located behind the building.
“People come in who want to get their diet on a healthy track and we help them,” Abby Williamson, Earth employee, said. “Doing small things for your health can really increase your quality of life.”
Native Roots Market
132 W. Main St.

If locally grown food and student discounts sound like a nice perk when buying groceries, trying out Native Roots Market might be a good idea.
With over one-third of the store’s inventory grown in Oklahoma, and some of the most educated grocers in town, this unique market is not a typical place to shop.
The market carries native foods and organic products from Oklahoma, as well as other items.
The founders of the market saw inadequacies in the way people were stocking grocery stores and wanted to provide a place for Norman locals to purchase good foods every day, Matt Runkle, Native Roots grocer, said.
“We wanted to provide a store that could assimilate good products all of the time,” Runkle said. “We scrutinize on an ethical level … and provide a local food system.”
Forward Foods
123 E. Main St.
Phone: 321-1007
As far as specialty foods go, Forward Foods is the place to be.
Not only does this grocery joint have a variety of organic foods and products, it also has a wide range of items that can’t be found anywhere else in Norman.
The store is known for its eclectic atmosphere and huge selection of gourmet cheese, as well as its coffee bar.
“Our store is unique because the focus is specialty foods,” Sascha Ingram, Forward Foods employee, said. “Our cheese is our separating factor.”
Gift baskets and party trays are available upon request and seasonal items are constantly enhancing the store’s inventory.
