Oklahoma Memorial Union
by Kevin Scott/Sower  |  July 27, 2008  |

Just like every other facet of the OU campus, the Oklahoma Memorial Union (located at the north end of campus, walking distance from the dorms) goes above and beyond to make OU students’ college days one step easier. Whether you choose to grab a bite to eat in between classes, study in a common area, or want to get in some shopping, the Union has you covered!

Restaurants

When it comes to food, the Union is a popular place to refuel in a spirited atmosphere where you’re likely to spot friends. Restaurants included in the OMU are: Chick-Fil-A, Crossroads (a late-night campus favorite where you can snack on breakfast, lunch and dinner meals), Quiznos, Sbarro, Wendy’s, and Wong Key.

Shops

There are many shops on the main floor of the Union. Students can make copies at the Crimson & Cream Copy Center, withdraw cash from the ATMs, listen to OU’s own alternative music station, the WIRE; or visit the University Bookstore, Flint Study Center Computer Lab, United States Post Office, OU Credit Union, Sooner OneCard Office, or the Student Art Gallery.

Center for Student Life

Located on the third floor, the Student Life office oversees Greek organizations, the OU Cousins program and Camp Crimson. Students can check for available scholarships or even relax in the lounge area.

Lounges

The Union is a great place for student groups to meet, as they can book historically-significant named areas (like the Will Rogers Room or Beaird Lounge) to hold meetings. Guest speakers often use the rooms, as well.
