Juan Yanez-Escobedo was booked into the Cleveland County Jail Thursday after he allegedly stabbed Sofia Montelongo, 27, an employee of Super 8 Motel.

Yanez-Escobedo, 34, also an employee of the motel, has been charged with first-degree murder.

According to the Norman Police Department, officers responded to a call about an injured woman at Super 8 Motel, 2600 W. Main St., at about 1:15 p.m. on Thursday. Officers arrived at the motel to discover a woman with multiple stab wounds in one of the motel's rooms. She was transported to Norman Regional Hospital, where she died of her injuries.
