OU men's basketball head coach Jeff Capel named Bucknell assistant Bryan Goodman as his new director of basketball operations Monday.
Goodman, a graduate of Choctaw High School, has been an assistant at Bucknell for the past six seasons.
"It was a wonderful experience and it was tough to leave, but the opportunity to become a Sooner was really a no-brainer when I got the call," Goodman said in a statement.
Capel and Goodman developed their relationship when Capel was an assistant coach for the U.S. team in the World University Games and Goodman served as a liaison.
"Bryan brings a lot to our program, especially with him having roots in here in Oklahoma," Capel said in a statement. "He is a very good basketball mind who was an integral part of Bucknell's recent success."
Goodman played three seasons of basketball at Barat College in Illinois and started his career there as an assistant coach.
He is the second addition to Oklahoma's coaching staff since Capel was hired as head coach April 11. Capel hired Mark Cline, his former assistant at Virginia Commonwealth, on Saturday.
