OU School of Dance students will present SummerDance this weekend, a program featuring four choreographers and a combination of modern dance and ballet.

Oklahoma Festival Ballet and Contemporary Dance Oklahoma, OU's resident ballet and modern dance companies, will perform at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Reynolds Performing Arts Center.

Mary Margaret Holt, director of the School of Dance and Oklahoma Festival Ballet, said the student dancers are excited about the performance after having just returned from summer tours overseas. Holt said the program promises to challenge the dancers as well as engage the audience.

The program includes two works by renowned choreographer Ben Stevenson. Stevenson's ballet "Glazunov Variations" will showcase the music of composer Alexander Glazunov with classical ballet, while "Camouflage" will explore themes of the Vietnam War with an all-male cast.
