The OU lineup resembles the Queen song "Another One Bites the Dust," after losing another player to injury in Saturday's win over Kansas.
Senior offensive lineman Davin Joseph was injured late in the first half of the game and didn't return.
OU offensive line coach Kevin Wilson said Joseph may have sprained his neck, but wasn't sure of the extent of the injury. He said he didn't think it was serious.
Wilson said after Joseph left the game the offensive line produced, something he never thought he would say.
Injuries plague OU's offense and defense
o Offensive lineman Davin Joseph left Saturday's game with a neck injury.
o Receiver Travis Wilson sat out the game with an ankle injury.
o Running back Adrian Peterson missed most of Saturday's game while he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
o Cornerback Eric Bassey sat out the game with a pulled quad muscle.
"We actually played pretty good, better when he was out," Wilson said. "How about that?"
The Sooners were already without senior receiver Travis Wilson, who sat out the game with an ankle injury.
Sophomore running back Adrian Peterson carried the ball five times, but missed a majority of the game due to an ankle injury.
Head coach Bob Stoops said Peterson didn't feel well this week, but it was more a lack of practice. He said this week Peterson will get to practice more and get back the rhythm he'd had before getting injured.
Defensively, sophomore cornerback Marcus Walker sat out a majority of the game due to soreness in his knee from an injury to his posterior cruciate ligament.
Senior cornerback Eric Bassey sat out the game due to a pulled quad muscle.
Offensive coordinator Chuck Long said he was proud of his players' performance considering the injuries suffered to the team.
"You look out there, we have guys that are hurt, been hurt all week, and Davin Joseph went out of the game tonight," Long said. "Combined with our youth out there, what a gutty performance."
Long said redshirt freshman quarterback Rhett Bomar was limping following the loss to Texas, which was why the Sooners didn't run him much against Kansas.
"We decided that he took too many hits last week, we better hold off on that this week," Long said.
"We have guys who are out of the lineup every week and it's like, who's going to show up this week that's healthy enough to play in the football game," Long said.
Coaches said the Sooners should have a healthier lineup Saturday when they return home for a game against the Baylor Bears.
