Fun south of the border
by   |  March 11, 2004  |

While many students are in search of locations with warm climates, entertaining attractions and delicious local eateries, they aren't willing to spend an entire day driving there.
A popular travel destination for students who don't want to venture too far is San Antonio.
San Antonio boasts an array of entertainment possibilities, including amusement parks, the Riverwalk nightlife, cultural museums and historical sites.
Tourists can feel like they're near the ocean by visiting SeaWorld San Antonio, the world's largest marine-life adventure park. This attraction combines the excitement of a show park, a rides-and-slides park, a water park and an animal park into one location.
Students seeking a thrilling time can also go to Six Flags Fiesta Texas, which features shows, rides and skill games created around themes celebrating the heritage of Texas and the Southwest.
Those interested in Texas heritage can increase their knowledge by visiting The Alamo, located in the heart of the city.
The Alamo is one of the most photographed sites in the country and is the most well-known spot in Texas.
A key element of San Antonio is the town's world-famous Riverwalk. The "jewel of the city" is the second-most-frequented place in the state, only behind The Alamo. For a minimal fee, tourists can take a riverboat ride or just stroll by a variety of fine restaurants, stores and hotels lining the waters of the Riverwalk.
No doubt the Riverwalk will be a crowded attraction, especially during the annual Pub Crawl on March 12, when the waters will be dyed shamrock green in celebration of St. Patrick's Day.
hello there & you too
