Fifty-fifth Emmy Awards to air Sunday night on Fox
Politicians, undertakers and gangsters will duke it out in the contest for best dramatic series as American television honors its most celebrated shows at the 55th annual Primetime Emmy Awards Sunday night.
NBC's acclaimed White House series "The West Wing," last year's champion, is defending its title against two of HBO's signature shows--undertaker family drama "Six Feet Under" and gangster-themed "The Sopranos," back in competition after a year on the sidelines.
Regardless of how the best-drama contest plays out, the two leads from "The Sopranos," James Gandolfini and Edie Falco, are regarded as virtual shoo-ins as best dramatic actor and actress for their roles as mob chief Tony Soprano and his wife, Carmela. Both have won twice before.
The awards show airs on Fox at 9 p.m.
