As a part of its recruitment week, Beta Epsilon will hold an informational meeting at 6:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room of Oklahoma Memorial Union for all interested students. Rush week for Beta Epsilon, OU's chapter of the international professional business fraternity, Delta Sigma Pi, began Monday.
All students classified as sophomore or above who are in pursuit of a business major and have at least a 2.75 grade-point average are eligible for Beta Epsilon. In addition, students must be able to attend Wednesday night chapter meetings, including tonight's informational meeting, said Erin Morley, recruitment chairwoman and senior vice president of the fraternity.
The group holds several fund-raisers throughout the year. In addition, Beta Epsilon participates in community service projects. Every year, the fraternity sends a group to OU's annual Big Event. Last year, a group also participated in Walk for America and donated time at the Ronald McDonald House.
This past summer, Beta Epsilon received an honorable mention for Operations Excellence at the Grand Chapter Conference. The award was given in response to the amount of community service and fund-raisers the organization was involved in.
