So He Has a Girlfriend
Many of you ladies have probably read Nathan Stranges article titled So She Has a Boyfriend. If you are anything like me, you feel the need to voice the unfairness. Dont worry girls, Ive got your back on this one!
Almost every female has been in this situation before. You are out doing you thing at a party, being fabulous and sexy, and a guy comes up and starts dancing with you. So youre thinking, Mmmm, hes pretty cute!! Hooray!! Then, when you get up the nerve to slip him your number, he says, Oh, no, my girlfriend would be pissed if I called you.
Hmm. Lets get this straight. So its okay with his girlfriend if he is grinding his crotch into your butt on the dancefloor? I dont think so. Hes sending the Im so single and Im so digging you signal, but he doesnt follow through.
Or how about the time when youre sitting in class, and you hear a guy talking about how much hed like to get with so and so. Then his friend throws in: yeah, I dont think your girlfriend would like that very much! Then they all laugh and high-five each other. Why? What did you accomplish that you feel the need to celebrate?
The most common thing Ive seen are the attached guys at the mall. Ladies, have you ever been walking around, again being fabulously sexy, shopping it up with your friends, when you see a really cute guy walking towards you? So youre pumped because, dang, hes cute, but then you notice the girl suctioned to his body and glaring at you. Youre a decent human, and youre not going to steal this chicks man, but why is he staring at you still? There have been times where a girl has punched her boyfriend in the arm for staring at me and my friends for too long. Talk about sending out an unattached signal. Why do boys do this?
Okay ladies, this is when it gets hard. In order to attempt to answer this question, Im going to have to try to explain the male brain. Men are fickle, competitive, and most of all, thinking about sex.
When a guy stares at you, more often then not, hes thinking something dirty. Those extra lingering stares add up to the fantasy. Now, Im not saying that most guys will follow through and actually go act out on those fantasies and cheat on their girlfriends. In fact, most of them wont, theyll just think about it.
Men are also very competitive. They need to feel studly, especially when they are attached. Men cannot make up their minds. It sometimes seems that once a man has his mind set on a girl, and he gets her, its time to find a new one. This is not always the case, but it does happen. Men desire what they dont have, and once they get it, its no longer attractive. Perhaps these men hit on other women because they are really seeking a chase.
Who knows why guys do what they do? How are we supposed to know if they are really interested or not? Single or attached?
Unfortunately, theres no magic formula that we can use to produce the answers. The best way to go about this situation is to get to know him and treat him like a friend. Even if he is sending Im digging you signals out the wazzoo, until he asks you for your number or out to dinner, dont assume anything.
hello there & you too
