The Norman Fire Department reported Tuesday there was no damage from the fire in Couch Center.
Fire fighters responded to the fire in a trash chute in Couch Monday, said Bob Bledsoe, Norman's assistant fire chief. The fire was extinguished and the area was ventilated before fire fighters left.
The cause of the fire has not been determined, Bledsoe said. All of Couch's trash chutes empty into the same dumpster. Fire is not a common occurrence but it does happen, Bledsoe said.
