Students at the Health Sciences Center will now have more interaction with the Norman campus.
Any services present in Norman are now coordinated with the Health Sciences Center under a campus-wide OU Student Affairs in Norman. It will be directed by Vice President for Student Affairs Clarke Stroud.
HSC has several student service offices in each of its seven colleges that function independently, said Robie Herman, dental student senior and former HSC Student Center president.
President Boren changed the structure of HSC Student Services to collaborate between the two campuses, Stroud said. He said the HSC Student Services office focused on retention and recruiting. It will continue to provide the same services but it will now broaden to include community services, campus activities, programming and advising, Stroud said.
Boren said this change reflects his desire to increase the level of student services.
