County primaries to be held
by   |  August 27, 2002  |

Primary campaigning is over, and now Cleveland County voters must decide the final competitors for November's county office elections Tuesday.

Republicans only can vote in the District 21 district attorney primary election. The winner of the race between incumbent Tim Kuykendall and Susan Rogers will face Democratic candidate Tully McCoy in the November general elections.

Both Democrats and Republicans will help decide the final pair to run for District 3 Cleveland County commissioner.

Democrats running are incumbent Leroy Krohmer and Jim Robertson.

Kevin Hopkins and Luke Canon are battling for the Republican spot.

Polls will be open Tuesday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. A few places near campus where people can cast their vote include: New Life Bible Church, 1201 W. Boyd St., Cross Main Building, 1600 Jenkins Ave., St. Thomas More University Parish, 100 Stinson St. and University Lutheran Church, 914 Elm Ave.

While students new to the Norman area may have missed the opportunity to register to vote in Tuesday's primary elections, they can register for November's general elections. Registration deadline for the Nov. 5 general election is Oct. 11.
