There are many places to study on campus
by   |  July 30, 2001  |

Whether students are looking for a place to cram for their first exam or wanting to catch up on their reading assignments, OU offers many places to study on campus.

Bizzell Memorial Library is the main library on campus and provides several different types of study environments.

A student who wants a place for studying alone can venture to the Great Reading Room. Students will find 24-hour solitude. Last spring OU increased the lighting, making this room a good place for quiet studying.

Bizzell also has separate, soundproof rooms on several floors that are great for working with a groups for projects. Some of these rooms are equipped with a chalk board.

The library also houses a coffee shop,Bookmark, that is open from 8 a.m. until 1 a.m., as well as a computer lab.

For students looking for a more informal study environment, the Oklahoma Memorial Union is the place to go. The union, also home to the food court and Crossroads Restaurant, offers a variety of settings for studying with 24-hour access.

The second floor houses a computer lab and Beaird Memorial Lounge. Beaird Lounge is furnished with couches and easy chairs not only for studying, but also a quick nap in between chapters. Groups can use the tables and chairs for group projects. This area is not as quiet as the library, but rarely gets too noisy.
