With 26 current commitments, OU would appear to be done recruiting for the year.

However, Clint Werth, a transfer at the semester break, will count against last year's total, leaving the Sooners with 25 commitments.

The Sooners will continue to recruit several high-profile players (Vince Carter, OL; Waco, Texas; 6-3, 225; Derrick Johnson, LB; Waco, Texas; 6-4, 205; Tommie Harris, DL; Killeen, Texas; 6-3, 275), and will accept their commitments, should they choose OU.

OU would then be over its limit for the year, but would still be able to bring in the NCAA-maximum 25 players despite academic casualties.

Currently, Rivals.com ranks OU's crop of recruits as the fourth best recruiting class in the nation. The addition of Carter and Harris (two of the most promising recruits at their positions) could move the Sooners into the top position, according to theWeb site.

All commitments are non-binding. National signing day is Feb. 7.
