Renfro recovering from motorcycle accident

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- Sixteen-year-old actor Brad Renfro suffered minor injuries in a motorcycle accident Monday.

He was treated at a hospital and released after the wreck. Last year, he struck a plea bargain on cocaine and marijuana charges, agreeing to be tested for drugs at random times.

McGregor: Star Wars filming not so exciting

LONDON -- Ewan McGregor says playing young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the new Star Wars movie wasn't all swords and special effects.

Some of the filming was "the 28-year-old epitome of tedium," the Scottish actor said in Tuesday's Express.

Boredom didn't stop McGregor from signing up for the two other Star Wars movies, which are to be completed by 2005.

"I guess I'm just an actor who can't say no. Besides, there's nothing cooler than being a Jedi knight," he said.

New Orleans mayor wants to debate Heston over guns

NEW ORLEANS -- Mayor Marc Morial is challenging Charlton Heston to a debate over gun safety.

Heston, who is president of the National Rifle Association, replied Tuesday: ''The mayor should take care of the problems of New Orleans.''

New Orleans is currently suing gunmakers for shooting injuries and deaths; the NRA is backing legislation to bar such lawsuits.
