FBI continues search for bank robbery suspects
No arrests have been made in conjunction with a Monday morning armed robbery of Commercial Federal Bank at 2122 W. Main St.
According to Norman police, witnesses said the suspect approached the teller window and demanded an undisclosed amount of money while pointing a revolver at the teller. The suspect left the bank, walking east. Dan Vogel, special agent at the FBI, said there was no information about any vehicle the suspect used.
The suspect is described as a white man in his early 30s, about 5-foot 10-inches with a stocky build. He was wearing black pants, a black jacket, a plaid shirt and sunglasses. He also had blond mustache and goatee.
In a separate incident, the OU Department of Public Safety arrested a 35-year-old man early Tuesday morning for possession of a loaded revolver. Vogel said law enforcement officials are still investigating the prospect of a connection between the two incidents.
Vogel said a substantial award is offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Anyone with information can call 290-7770.
