When most men get married, they choose a college buddy or an old classmate as their best man.

Not Chuck Langston.

When Chuck Langston got married, he chose his father, Alvin.

Langston lived with his mother when he was growing up in Beaumont, Texas, and said she has always been "very supportive" throughout his childhood days and during his college football career.

But he also had a special relationship with his father while he was growing up. "Discipline" and "hard work" are words that Langston uses when describing his father's beliefs.

"He taught me a lot about being a man," Langston said. "He's a hard-nose guy. He kind of reminds me of Coach (Howard) Schnellenberger in the way he thinks and the way he believes things should be done."

For example, Langston said his father was happy to hear about Schnellenberger's long practices.
