One of Norman's favorite eateries will extend its hours to the evening.

The Diner, a classic breakfast and lunch shotgun-style diner on Main Street, will now be open from 5-10 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.

"We're just trying something new," server Heather Diaz said.

Diaz said there are currently no plans to extend the hours for other days throughout the week, but want to get a feel for how customers will respond.

She said the menu will not change for the moment, but the restaurant may do specials "here and there."

The restaurant is known for its chili and Tex-Mex style food.

The Diner's original hours were 6:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

It is located at 213 E. Main St.
